Innovation – One idea at a time

Think big. Be bold. A single innovative idea can have unexpected outcomes and can even transform major world issues. On occasion an idea that was different, that an individual with passion acted on to make a reality, has changed the world around them. These stories are thought provoking and inspiring.

For that reason I have always enjoyed the TED Talks® organized by the market leading TED Conferences. TED Conferences feature outstanding speakers who are changing the world, one idea at a time. This Monday at IBM Edge2014, I will host Edge Talks, a session on innovation with several amazing speakers who have delivered TED Talks. We hope that attendees will participate in the discussions using the hashtag #IBMEdgeTalks.

So what’s on the agenda?

We’re going to hear several thought leaders whose innovative ideas are helping solve modern day challenges. During Edge Talks we will discuss innovation that impacts our world, exploring major global issues such as food supply, health and wellness and security. Speakers include:

  • Ron Finley (@RonFinleyHQ), the renegade gardener who transformed a Los Angeles food desert one urban garden at a time.
  • John Wilbanks (@Wilbanks) who will address the convergence of technologies that capture personal data and their uneasy connection with privacy laws and ethics.
  • Peter S. Singer (@PeterWSinger), the author of “Cybersecurity and Cyberwar: What Everyone Needs to Know.”
  • Sridhar Iyengar of Intel who will deep dive on security and how to protect a connected world.

With IBM Edge2014 Edge Talks we hope to inspire you, to lead you to think differently about innovation. If a single innovative idea can drive positive results for major world issues, imagine the outcomes we could realize if we think differently about how we use technology and infrastructure. Could we not transform our organizations, better serve our clients and boost business results?

If you are at IBM Edge, join us this Monday, May 19th, at 3:00 p.m. PT in the Venetian Ballroom. Edge Talks will also be Livestreamed at ibm.com/edge.

During Edge Talks I will ask you to join in on Twitter using #IBMEdgeTalks to share your personal experiences and ideas on technology innovation and transformation in your organization.

I look forward to hearing your stories.
